Kelsey & Dwayne | Wyndham Virginia Beach Virginia Beach, Virginia Wedding Photographers

Dwayne and Kelsey have known each other since they were in 8th grade science class!! One day, Dwayne fell asleep and Kelsey drew on his face with a sharpie. They didn’t talk again after that, until the next year when they were in JROTC together!!

They started dating during their junior year of high school having  gotten to know each other for a couple of years and developing a pretty good friendship. After they both had recently gotten out of relationships they decided to go hang out and see a movie together. For some reason, there was something about that night and Kelsey and Dwayne ended up talking for hours  in a Little Ceasars parking until it was Kelsey’s curfew. Dwayne then asked Kelsey to see another movie the following week, which he labeled “a real date”!! After that movie date they were “official” and have been ever since!! A little over 4 years later Dwayne and Kelsey got engaged! On their Wedding date they have been together for 6 1/2 years!!

Their Navy blue, white and gold Wedding on the Virginia Beach Ocean front was a beautiful celebration with their very large families and close friends! Thank you so much Kelsey and Dwayne!!

Elizabeth & Leroy | Cousiac Manor New Kent, Virginia Wedding Photographers

What a joy it was seeing Elizabeth and Leroy Wed!

Leroy and Elizabeth met when Leroy was 18 and working as a cook at the Pocahontas State Park snack bar. As Elizabeth describes, Leroy had a “luscious rat tail and a spunky personality that made him a fun coworker for everyone”! After a couple of years of perfecting the microwaved hamburger, a young, naive Elizabeth grabbed his attention. Elizabeth began working at Pocahontas State Park when she was 16 and tended to be a little reserved. Whenever Leroy and Elizabeth had to work together, Leroy would include her in conversation whether she wanted to be or not. Fast forward a few years, their friendship blossomed as they realized they had similar interests including: both going to be Dukes at James Madison University, giving each other a hard time, and Jesus. Leroy asked Elizabeth on their first date on June 30, 2013. The new couple got to know each other through late night talks on Elizabeth’s front porch. Throughout their time at JMU, Leroy and Elizabeth grew closer as they were both involved in campus ministry, loved trying local restaurants, and watching Stranger Things.

Elizabeth and Leroys Wedding was tremendously blessed and we were So so thankful for the covered porch that allowed us to carry on with portraits when the sky opened up and poured and poured and poured!  Despite the rain, it was an awesome day!!

Thank you Vendor Team!!

Nashaye & Marcus | Fords Colony Country Club Williamsburg, Virginia Wedding Photographers

Nashaye and Marcus met 14 years ago at a restaurant they both worked at. As they describe it, it wasn’t love at first sight as it took them months to talk as more than just co-workers!! Nashaye says she didn’t even really notice Marcus until right around the time that he asked her for her number. She waited for him to call and he never did!! At some point Nashaye let Marcus know that if he wasn’t going to call then she needed to have her number back! haha 🙂
Marcus called her that night and they talked for hours. From that time until now they have been pretty much inseparable. They are best friends, share the same sense of humor and it is very clear to see how much they love one another.
Decorated with a plum and charcoal gray color scheme with accents of silver and softer shades of purple florals, their Wedding day was a regal, romantic and an intimate celebration with their family and closest friends. It was a beautiful day!
Thank to a fantastic Vendor Team!!

David & Jamaka | Historic Ghent Engagement Norfolk, Virginia Wedding Photographers

I yelped kinda loud with excitement when I found out David was proposing to his beautiful girlfriend Jamaka! There was a voicemail and all I heard through a bad connection was something like “I’m popping the question very soon and we want to talk with you guys about possibly Photographing  the…Wedding!”   We couldn’t be more excited for Jamaka and David’s Wedding this fall!  They are a beautiful couple and we dearly love their family!! I grew up with David and his brothers! All of us are “Pastor’s kids” and in so many ways like cousins. There are endless funny stories and memories from growing up with David and his brothers and we’re thrilled to help capture many more as they begin their lives together! 🙂 We can’t wait!!!

Congratulations David & Jamaka!!

“You will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”!! Jeremiah 17:8

Samantha & Harold | Hotel Roanoke Roanoke, Virginia Wedding Photographers

Samantha and Harold grew up in the same neighborhood but didn’t date until after college! Although their romance ended they remained friends, often sharing meals, cocktails and concerts together. An invitation to a Robert Glasper concert in March of 2016 started the rekindling of their love!  Almost a year later, spending the evening creating a vision board together, Harold got on one knee and asked if Sam would become his wife and make their vision a reality!

Sam & Harold’s Wedding day and brunch reception at Hotel Roanoke was truly beautiful! Pale pinks and handsome greens, a two toned Rolls Royce and blush peonies pulled together a classic and traditional Wedding! And if that wasn’t pretty enough, they playfully incorporated a colorful addition of Roanoke’s arts district grafitti walls into their portrait time in downtown Roanoke! Sam and Harold are a handsome couple, JMU alumni (Go Duke’s!!!) and Roanoke’s newest royals!!! 😉 It was an honor capturing their sweet day!

Thanks for checking out the Blog! Leave Sam & Harold some love!!!
